The shaping of an idea  passes through a series of phases such as Conception, Interiorization, Visualization, Realization and Completion, each of which has its own state of mind.

   However ...

... all share a common denominator: the "creative moment" in which work, resulting from the process, is of the utmost importance. The dimension which opens at this "moment" permits  the previously non-existent to become existent, this is a source of the highest magic.

At certain moments, concentrated on the task, the internal dialogue stops, the atmosphere becomes transparent, the air soft and I can observe the flow of thoughts like a witness while the piece progresses towards its being in a sequence which seems almost extraneous to me. At that time I do not feel myself being the creator anymore but, rather, the tool.

As one of the founder members of the "Leder-Gilde, e.V." - Association for the Promotion of Leather Art and Leather Craft - Selim is well aware of the necessity to pass on the knowledge of leather-working techniques to future generations.

Having found a serene retreat in a peaceful white "finca" on Ibiza, he considers himself doubly blessed to be able to attain the right state of mind to develop his creativity while living in such a pleasant surrounding.
